Malkohi is a community in Yola North Local Government of Adamawa State, Nigera, that has been home to internally displaced persons (IDP’s) for about ten (10) years now, mostly victims of insurgency whose communities have been destroyed or occupied by insurgents. While the IDP’s and their host community have been coexisting peacefully all these years, they now face a challenge of declining source of livelihood which has resulted to a serious and unhealthy competition between the youths and women of the community and those of the IDP’s as they now compete for same jobs particularly menial labor.  Through our project, we are directly targeting fifty (50) youths and women within the community to equip and empower them with new skills that can provide them alternative sources of livelihood; this will indirectly benefit at least two hundred and twenty-five (225) people since each of our beneficiary will be a representative of a household. The community is also faced with challenge of children malnutrition and early child education, thus to proffer a holistic and sustainable solutions to challenges of this community, we are also directly targeting fifty (50) children aged within 5 – 7 to improve their class attendance through nutritional benefits/incentives while referring those with severe malnutrition cases for special treatment; this will also indirectly benefit at least (225) people. Thus, our project directly targets 100 (one hundred) beneficiaries and indirectly targets 450 (four hundred and fifty) beneficiaries. Quiet Shelter Empowerment Foundation last year 2022 between the months of September – October carried out a six (6) week pilot for this project successfully and received positive feed backs and support from the participants and members community one of which was a donation of a locally based livestock farm for use as demonstration farm/center for this main training, we also got five (5) volunteer trainers who indicated interest to support this main project. For this main project, we plan to execute it within the duration of eight months, starting from June 1, 2023 with a total budget of USD 9,870 (Nine thousand, eight hundred and seventy Dollars).
